TOTO-TOA® began with a simple belief:
If we design materials with respect for people, culture, and the planet, they can serve us well and return responsibly to the earth when we’re finished with them.
Our name reflects that belief.
"toto" means blood
"toa" means brave and warrior
In Samoan culture, land and people are deeply connected. Words like ele'ele (soil/earth) and palapala (dirt) can also mean blood, reflecting a holistic view of our bond with the natural world.
Together, the name TOTO-TOA captures the idea of strength and bravery with responsibility. A steady determination to build better solutions with the commitment to living in harmony with nature.
